Remove attending, fan, group and “now friends” messages from Facebook
Ok fellas, I’ve found a way how to remove those annoying “Is Attending”, “Became Fan”, “Joined Group,” and “Now Friends” messages from Facebook feeds!
- First of all – USE FIREFOX!
- Install Greasemonkey add-on (need to restart your browser)
It allows you to customize the way a webpage displays using small bits of JavaScript. - Install this user script
That’s All!
Note that identical solution should work on Chrome, Opera and Safari too, but with a bit more tricky installation:

This does work as described, good work.. Can I be a pain though? I actually want the “joined group” and “is attending” msgs because it lets me see what’s popular among my mates, especially those working as promoters.
I really just wanted to cull out all the “is friends with”. Can the different messages be made optional? Or, cut the script into 3 seperate pieces and let those running it decide which pieces to install?

Thanks! It took a few weeks for this to finally get under my skin enough to take action. I’m glad I found this page. FB is so much more enjoyable now.
